Denon 4308 - What Factors Should A Buyer Consider In A Home Theater System And Does Denon 4308 Match
Almost everybody would like a home theater with great surround sound and bass. But, many can’t handle the hassle of selecting and setting up the equipment. The result: the manufacture of a huge assortment of integrated home theater audio systems (known as “home theater in a box,” or HTiB). Everything is compact and fits in one or two cartons. Before you buy, these are some things you should look at:
Do you have a dedicated space for your system? Then go for a more powerful system. A bedroom or an average-sized living room will need 40 to 80 watts per channel; a room with a high ceiling will need 80 watts or more.
Video sources and a set of five or six speakers are connected through a home theater receiver. Some music lovers plug audio components into their receiver. All you are likely to need are a receiver and speakers, if the video and audio components are already available at your home.
Minimum Digital Theater System (DTS) or Dolby Digital are recommend for surround sound.
For video components, they are (in descending order) component-video, S-Video, composite-video, and antenna/cable inputs, for video components, and digital optical, coaxial, and RCA connectors, for audio components, are the connectors that will provide the highest quality signal.
Speakers are crucial to the sound quality you need. Make sure you listen to a system before you buy it. A manufacturer who specializes in loudspeakers is likely to deliver better quality than one who is known for electronics.
A Home Theater System is a lifestyle product, and design aesthetics are very important, as the system is likely to take up a good deal of space, in your home.
The Denon 4308 scores well, in all the above departments. The WiFi system, with its absence of wires, provides clutter free installation, and has a rugged build (described as the new “wave” style industrial design) and sleek looks. If there’s one area of complaint that music lovers may have about the system, it’s this: the amplifier does audio and jpeg streaming, but not just any video streaming, such as from the internet or the hard disk of a PC. However, it has an inbuilt-subwoofer which delivers great bass in 7 channel stereo mode. With good crossover capability and stereo imaging, the 4308 seems poised to take over from where its successful forebear, the 4306, left off.

| Review by James T Frisby (USA) 2010-07-02 I bought this receiver in January, and I think it's great. I heard a lot of people complain about manuals, but I had no problem understanding something, and I had never owned a surround sound system first. Setup was easy with the use of the microphone. I connected the speakers Polk Audio sound system and fantastic. The only thing that has... Read more Denon AVR1910 7.1-Channel reviews | ||

| Review by J. Lunsford (Albuquerque, NM) 2010-02-13 I had the AVR2310CI for several weeks. As mentioned by others, the instruction manual and menu system are poor, but the receiver was still relatively easy to install. I also bought a set of speakers with the receiver end. Fortunately, the speakers provided with the final clear instructions on how to configure the receiver and complete... Read more Denon AVR2310CI 7.1-Channel reviews | ||
